SUCCESS with the Marketplace! I learned firsthand that many of the horror stories are true, but I have now been able to get subsidies for clients and enroll them for January 1st! I’ve been doing this for a lot of years and can’t imagine how people with no insurance background can navigate their way through on their own. Part of the problem is that the government has not done a good job of letting the public know that 1. Prices ON the Exchange/Marketplace/SHOP are NOT lower than going direct (and, in fact, you can have fewer plans to choose from) and, 2. If you’re not eligible for a subsidy, there’s no reason to struggle with the overburdened healthcare.gov website at all. Easy to write individual coverage through BMC’s iDecide link on our website!
