Late last week, Independence Blue Cross sent a customer mailing regarding broker access to IBXpress, the Employer Portal.
As you may now be aware, this mailing included erroneous information causing significant confusion.
They are saying that their intent with the mailing was to identify customers whose brokers did not currently have IBXpress access to their accounts, and request that access be granted.
There are two specific issues that were identified with this mailing:
1. Some customers whose brokers already have IBXpress access were included in the mailing.
2. The letter identifies either Brown & Brown Consulting or Emerson Reid as the broker of record, instead of BMC Benefit Services, when in fact those agencies are our General Agent, not the broker.
First and foremost, it is important to note that our access on your behalf has not been removed or altered.
We are advised that they will be sending a ‘corrective mailing’ to those who received the mailing explaining the errors.
If you received this letter from Independence Blue Cross, you can feel free to simply ignore it.
