Open enrollment in the Marketplace (Exchange) begins on November 15, 2014 for a January 1, 2015 effective date. If an employer offers coverage that meets minimum standards and cost, employees are NOT eligible for the tax credit (subsidy). While anyone can purchase on the Marketplace, if an individual waives employer coverage (they also waive employer contributions), they have to pay for the Marketplace plan using AFTER-TAX dollars.

Employers are required to notify employees of the availability of coverage in the Marketplace, however, this is NOT an annual notice. If you provided this notice at this time in 2013, you do NOT need to provide again. If you failed to provide the notice in 2013, please provide it now. It should be still be given to all new employees.
